Kelly Lea Gretton (Halverson)(Burn) age 63, passed away on December 17, 2021 at her home in Elk River surrounded by her family and cherished animals.
Kelly is survived by her husband of 18 years Bob Gretton; her daughters, Jadie Hamm (Nik) and Allie Hoier (Buck) and her nine grandchildren, Brock and Hudson Hamm, Laney, Charley and Hayes Hoier, Cody, Shea and Skye Yaeger, and Kat O’Neill. Bob’s daughters, Carmen Gretton (Matt) and Nikki O’Neill (Brian). Siblings, Lora Henry and Bruce Halverson. Preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Velda Halverson and close cousin Terin Ferguson.
Kelly was born in Duluth, MN in 1958 and later relocated to Moorhead, MN. where she graduated High School In 1976 then Moorhead State University and shortly after married her High School sweetheart Doug Burn. In 1975 Kelly was the Minnesota State Champion in the 200 Relay. Kelly loved spending much of her childhood at her family’s lake place in Perham, MN, which she continued to enjoy on the weekends until her death. Kelly enjoyed a successful sales career where she earned multiple National awards in her profession, which also allowed her to travel across the world. At 53 she was able to retire early and able to spend the last 10 years enjoying her hobbies and traveling with her husband Bob. Kelly loved spending time visiting her daughters and her grandkids, especially in the kitchen cooking. Early in life she developed a love for animals which continued throughout her life. Horses held a special place for her, she participated with the Hennepin and Sherburne County Sheriff’s horse patrol, multiple drill teams, cowboy mounted shooting, trail rides, and hauling her daughters to rodeos.
Though Kelly will be missed dearly by her family and friends, she in now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in heaven.
