Werner Beutler Obituary

80, passed peacefully from this life on October 4.

Werner was born January 20, 1940, in Bürgerhuben, East Prussia. Ahead of advancing Russians, he fled with his family to Schrum, northern Germany, where he grew up. He learned mechanical work at trade school before emigrating to the United States in 1957, sponsored by his brother Manfred.

He worked at Remmele Engineering for 50 years, first in St. Paul, and then in Big Lake.

He married Sheila Drewelow in 1968. He is survived by his three children: Veann Beutler, Deidra Wright (Matt), and Eric Beutler (Jennifer Stadt). He found great delight in his grandchildren: Alissa and Lenny Wright, Allison Gontar, Lillyan and Beau Beutler, who will all deeply miss him.

Werner took pride in serving his country, first in the Army from 1958 - 1962 on his path to citizenship, and later as a reserve officer for Savage and then Sherburne County Water Patrol, then as a chaplain for the Big Lake American Legion.

Werner became a staunch Vikings fan, enjoying game day time with family. After his divorce from Sheila, Werner met Ginny (Virginia Semelsberger) and enjoyed his relationship with her. He is now happily reunited with her.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Erich and Emma, and his brothers, Gerhard (Frieda), Helmut (Sigrid), and Manfred (Ruth) Beutler.

A celebration of his life will be at Lord of Glory Lutheran church, where he was a faithful member for 32 years, on Sunday, October 11, with visitation at 1:00, service at 2 pm
