Peterson Wayne Harold (Tarz)

Age 90 of Elk River, Mn. passed away on January 21,2026. Wayne was born May 10, 1935 in Otisco, Mn. and moved to Elk River in 1947. He graduated from Elk River Senior High School In 1953. Wayne was employed by Honeywell from 1953- 1972, managed the Elk River Country Club and Elk River Ice Arena from 1972-1977. Was a ready mix truck driver from 1977 - 2000 as a member of the Central States Teamsters Union Local 24. Wayne and Val enjoyed traveling, going up north, playing cards and socializing with friends. Spent many winters in Texas.

Preceded in death by wife Valborg Peterson, parents Harold and Hannah Peterson, and sister Barbara Peterson .

Survived by children Roxanne (Mike) of Crystal River, Fl, Wayne Peterson of Chicago Il, Jon (Amy) Peterson Delano, Mn, Jill Peterson of Elk River, Mn; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and step-children Mark Gacke (Lou), Dawn Valadez (Victor), Ranee Kraemer (Mark), Heather Adel (Conrad), Felice Ritter (Jeff) and Amber Bullock (Chang) and families, along with many other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation Friday, May 1, 2026 from 4-7 pm and on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 10-11 am with a Celebration of Life at 11:00 am and luncheon to follow ,all at Central Lutheran Church, Elk River, Mn.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Guardian Angels of Elk River.
