McNellis, Timothy James age 82, passed away in his home in Elk River on Tuesday, September 29. He grew up in De Graff, Minnesota and attended Benson High School where he met the love of his life Bobbi Moline. They were married 60 years, 7 months and 9 days.
Tim had an amazing memory and dry sense of humor which made him a captivating story teller. He played baseball from a young age through his late 40’s. He also loved hunting, playing golf and breakfast clubs with his buddies. He remained a loyal fan of all MN sports teams (despite the frustration their frequent let-downs caused him). What he loved the most, however, were the moments he shared with his beloved Bobbi and their three children in the life they built together. His 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren brought him so much joy and he was known to describe them as his world.
He was an Irishman with a feisty spirit and a mighty heart to match it. His love was deep and will remain with all who received it long after his passing.
Tim is survived by wife, Bobbi McNellis; three children, Michele (Kevin) Grimes, Maryjo (Paul) Valder, and Peter (Jodi) McNellis; 11 grandchildren, Erin Haskamp, Adam (Maritza) and Pete (Mariah) Messer, Emilye Jo Grimes, Charlie (Britta), Sam (Rachel), Mollie and Maddie McNellis, Caleb, Kendyl and Eli (Sami) Valder; 7 great grandchildren; two siblings, Ann (Gene) Johnson, and Sue Mulvahill.
