Susanne Carole (Hermstad) Morrison

Susanne Carole Morrison, age 77 of Elk River, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, November 11, 2024. She was born in Minneapolis on May 7, 1947.

Sue attended Richfield High School and raised her children in Richfield. In the fall of 1990, Sue and her husband, Donny, made their home in Elk River. She worked in the medical billing industry and started up her own business, Physicians Support Services. She specialized in Anesthesia billing with a client of doctors from Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina.

She enjoyed games, gardening, knitting, traveling, spending time with her family and friends, and she loved animals. Sue had a heart of gold, and her outgoing and funny personality will be missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Phyllis Hermstad.

Sue is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Donald Morrison; children, David (Julie) Swift, Christine Swift; stepdaughters, Kelly Williams, Tracy (Kevin) Shaw; grandchildren, Kaleigh Swift, Tiffany Swift, Harrison Shaw and Connor Shaw; great-granddaughter, Lainey Swift; brother, David Hermstad (partner, Beverly Ellis); Godsons, Jonathon Morrison, Christopher Hermstad, Aaron Stack; and many family and numerous friends.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 1:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 12:00 PM, at Dare’s Funeral Home, 805 Main St NW, Elk River, MN. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis on Monday, November 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM; please meet in assembly area 6 by 10:45 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Sue’s name are preferred to a charity of your choice.
