Steven Larson Obituary

Age 79, of Waynesboro, MS (formerly of Alexandria, MN).  Passed away at his son’s home surrounded by his loving family on August 3, 2022.

Steve loved his Lord Jesus Christ more than anything.  His love for family was always close behind.  Steve was born April 4th, 1943 to Lloyd and Geneva in Fairmont, MN.  He loved playing with his brothers and sisters and had a few cowboy & Indians mishaps.  He loved farming and could always be found driving a tractor.  He graduated from Fairmont High School. While living in Winnebago MN, Steve was best known as “Hollywood” as everyone’s favorite bus driver.  After Winnebago, the Larson family moved to Alexandria, MN in 1975 to work at Lake Geneva Christian Center.  He loved farming in his spare time.  Whenever he could, he was enjoying time with family. While in Alexandria, he opened a sharpening service called Steve’s Sharp Shop.  In early 2000 Steve moved to Waynesboro, MS and married his sweetheart, Ann, on November 21st, 2003.

There wasn’t anything he loved more than to spend time with his children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren.  He loved watching birds and there was always time every night for a quick game of cards.  Rook was his favorite but he loved a good game of Bumps, 7’s & Phase 10, as well. You would never want to be blamed for sandbagging or table talk.  He enjoyed a good game up until the very end, laughing all the way.

In his spare time, he would jump at the opportunity to go fishing, especially at the “honey hole” or hunting with his boys.  Steve was always up to some kind of shenanigans and loved a good laugh.  Not a single day started without a “cup of Joe” and many, many cups have been enjoyed by everyone who has spent any time with him.  In his later years he was proud to be a big trucker and enjoyed every minute being behind the wheel going down the highway.

Steve is going to be missed by all and we couldn’t have had a better husband, father, brother, grandpa or friend.  We will remember him often with the “Caw Caw” of the birds he loved.

“Rest in Peace, Steve – We will see you soon.”

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Geneva Larson.

Steve is survived by his wife of 19 years, Ann; children, Loren (Krista) Larson, Barry (Dawn) Larson, Jennifer (Brad) Anderson and Chad Larson; their mother, Lora Lee Larson; Ann’s children, Chris (Doll) Swindle and Tony (Kala) Smith; grandchildren, Loren Dale (T’Sheal), Alex (Stefani), Morgan (Jake), Jessica (Luke), Emily (Mathew), Dustin (Kylie), Blake (Bridget), Madison, Ty (Madison), Caitlin (Austin), Christian, Blake, Gracie and Trinity; great-grandchildren, Adilynn, Kimber, Chase and Kennedy; siblings.
