A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Dare’s Funeral Home for Stanley M. Raway, age 77 of Elk River who passed away peacefully on February 7, 2024 surrounded by family. Rev. Warren Lightbody will officiate with burial to follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Nowthen. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Stanley was born on November 3, 1946 to Henry and Agnes (Kasel) Raway in Hastings MN. After high school he proudly served his country in the Navy for four years. He married the love of his life Kathleen (Kathy) in 1981 and they went on to have a beautiful family with two sons, Joseph and John. He worked as a software tester at Medtronic for over 20 years and he retired in 2012.
Stanley enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, rock and gem collecting, hunting, fishing, traveling, and camping. He was a jack of all trades and was passionate about working with his hands, he always had a new project. He hand crafted bows and restored a 1967 Camero. Stanley loved music and he built a guitar that he enjoyed playing. He and Kathy enjoyed riding on his Harley motorcycle. Stanley will be remembered for his creativity and caring nature. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife Kathy of 42 years; sons, Joseph (Kimberly Cavalier) Raway, John (Trisha Rettig) Raway; grandchildren, Josh, Sean, Adam, and Dan; siblings, Sister Beverly Raway OSB, Marlene Meyers, Kenneth Raway, Raymond Raway, Mary Smith, Carol Rasmussen, Henry Raway, Christopher Raway, and many nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
