Sharon Rae (Howell) Olson

Sharon Rae was born on April 9, 1948, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, to Donald and Sarah “Sally”
Howell. In 1950, the family moved to Mobridge, South Dakota, where Sharon spent her
childhood and graduated from high school in 1966. Not long after, she moved to the Twin Cities
and became an optometrist.
Sharon met her loving husband, Gregg, in 1987, and they were married on February 14, 1993.
Happy Valentine's Day! This day was all about them! If you were friends with her on facebook,
you would see her annual post about their heart shaped papa murphy's pizza and some other
goodies from her family- It became a tradition that both the love birds and family enjoyed doing
each year. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, faith, and unwavering commitment.
Their relationship was an inspiration to many.
Sharon had a love for crocheting and found joy in creating handmade gifts for those she loved.
She enjoyed, both her indoor and outdoor plants, filling her home and yard with beauty and life.
Sharon enjoyed life's simple pleasures, especially anything red and a good Coca-Cola shared
with family and friends. Above all, Sharon’s faith in God guided her throughout her life and
brought her strength, comfort, and peace.
Her family and friends knew they could always count on Sharon, who never failed to make time
for the people she loved. She loved her family with her whole heart and her family loved her the
same. Sharon gained her angel wings and went home to God on May 16th, 2026.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Gregg Olson; her two children, Jason Robertson and
Marsha Nelson; daughter-in-law Ulrika (Lee) Pearson; grandchildren Beth, Joshua, Jordan,
Travis (Cori), Jenae, Kelsey (William), and Matthew; and great-grandchildren Noah, Jaxon,
Emma, Lyndi, Kaizer, Klover, and Clifford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother; her nephew and godson; her mother and father-in-law; and her brother-in-law.
Though she is no longer with us, she continues to shine brightly in our hearts and guide us
through life with the love and wisdom she shared. She was the best Wife, Mother, Grandma,
and Umma Grandma that her family could have asked for.
