Sharon Deanne (Hook) Aday

Sharon Deanne Aday, age 87 of Elk River, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7, 2025. She was born in Evansville, IN on February 12, 1938 to Herbert and Bessie Hook.

in 1956, Sherry graduated from Bossi High School in Evansville, Indiana. She worked as a cake decorator and manager of the bakery at Coborn’s in Elk River until her retirement. In her retirement, Sherry enjoyed selling pull tabs at McCoy’s Pub in Elk River.

Sherry could be found cheering on the Minnesota Vikings. She was a true matriarch of her family, and her greatest enjoyment was spending time with family and friends. Her sweet, funny and warm personality will be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Joseph E. Aday; parents, Herbert and Bessie Hook; brother, Billy Hook; and sister, Marlene Hook.

Sherry is survived by her children, Kathy (Ron) Brunelle of Moorhead, Kristy (Tom) Green of Elk River, Karalene Aday of Coon Rapids, Joe (Jenny) Aday of Elk River; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Price of Evansville, IN; and many other loving family and friends.

Memorials may be given to the Diabetes Association or purple flowers are requested, a favorite of Sherry’s.

A prayer service will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 3:00 PM, with visitation one hour prior, at Dare’s Funeral Home of Elk River, 805 Main St NW, Elk River, MN.
