Rosemary Janis (McElmury) Sobalvarro

Rosemary passed away at Guardian Angels care facility in Elk River, MN on Feb. 22, 2025. Rosemary was born in Sioux City, IA on April 15, 1934 to Raymond and Blanche McElmuray. She was the youngest of 3 children.

Rosemary was raised in Sioux City, graduated from East High School, and attended Morningside College. She married Roberto Sobalvarro in 1954.

Rosemary and Bob moved to Owatonna, MN in 1963, when Bob became Director of International sales at Owatonna Tool Company. Rosemary worked at Wenger establishing an international division. They retired in 1990, and enjoyed spending time in Guatemala with Bob's family and at their cabin in northern Minnesota.

Rosemary is survived by their 3 children, Ro (Kate Hanna), Melisa (Mike Masui), and Richard (Kristina Fearing); and 4 grandchildren, Maggie, Louis, Elena and Nicolas.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob; her parents; brother, Forrest; and sister, Wanda.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 2:00 PM, visitation one our prior to the service, at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 1326-4th St. Elk River, MN. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Triniti Hospice, Elk River, MN or the charity of your choice.
