Age 94, of Rogers passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 19th, 2020 at Wellstead Long-term Care Facility.
She was born on November 2, 1925, in Rogers daughter of Lester and Alvina (Zahler) Rouillard. Rose Marie graduated from Elk River High School in 1944. On October 14th, 1950, Rose Marie was joined in marriage to Donald Joseph Milless at St. Martins Catholic Church at Rogers. God blessed their marriage with four children.
Although Rose Marie’s primary focus was homemaking, she spent many years working with her two sisters and several close friends in their paint contracting business. And in later years she became one of the original ‘fixer uppers’ buying and remodeling many older homes.
Rose Marie was a faithful, lifetime member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church.
Rose Marie was a woman with many talents and hobbies. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed telling everyone that she even made her own wedding dress. She loved going to ‘Birthday Club’ and catching up with her best friends. She spent hours going to Quickie Auction and picking up bargains for herself and family members. Rose Marie enjoyed playing cards and spending countless mornings having coffee at Happy Chef with her friends.
Rose Marie especially loved spending time with grandchildren and more recently great grandchildren. She was a big part of their lives, often their roommate, their wheel of fortune comrade, sharing stories from the old days. She was always there to offer a root beer or piece of chocolate from her secret stash. She went above and beyond to make sure that they had everything they needed. She gave her all to her family.
I’m sure Rose Marie is now dancing the polka with her dad.
Rose Marie is survived by her loving children, Becky (Jerry) Eull of Eagle River, Alaska, Kathy Carron of Rogers, Don (Maureen) Milless of Motley, and Bill (Amy Lind) Milless of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Chole, Ryan, Brent (Amber), Noah (Loreal), Maisie (Kirk), Joshua (Lex), Ezra (Maria), Rose, Emma (Ricardo), Liza (Akeem), Miranda, Waverly & eleven great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Robert “Bib” (Alice) Milless; sister-in-law Joanne (Ron) Bourgeois; and many nieces & nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald ‘Dude’ Milless; sisters, Ferdella (Jerome) Gmach, Carmen (Murray) Hawkins, and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Rose Marie will be held at Mary Queen of Peace-St. Martin Campus in Rogers, date yet to be determined, followed by Interment at St. Martin Cemetery.
