In Loving Memory of Roger
Roger Leo Munter passed away December 2, 2025 at M Health Fairview Hospital in Princeton, MN.
Roger was born July 2nd, 1945 in Hillsboro, North Dakota to George and Clara (Aure) Munter. Roger was raised in Finley, North Dakota.
Roger moved to Enderlin North Dakota with JoAnne (Johnson) who he married in August 27th, 1965- 1981. During that time they raised their two sons Roy and Lyle. In 1970 Roger moved his family to Big Lake, Minnesota and eventually settled in Dayton Minnesota.
Roger began his career at Sharp construction, and after a few years he decided to go into business for himself where he ran a successful concrete business.
In 1987, Roger met Sharon Merges and her children. They resided in Zimmerman Minnesota for 40 years until his passing.
Roger loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, family and friends. You were always welcomed no matter the time or day. He enjoyed hearing what was going on in your life. Every summer he looked forward to spending time with everyone at the Munter family reunion.
Roger is survived by his longtime partner Sharon (Merges), his sons Roy (Monica), Lyle, and Sharon’s children: Sherri, Melissa, and Josh. Twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He is survived by four siblings: Gene (Sharon), Everett (Alice), Evelyn, and Ron (Ilene). Roger is also survived by many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, neighbors, and friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Linda, Eva, and Vera; brothers Dennis, Jerry, Brian, Leslie, Gillette, and Arlin.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday December 20th, at Dare’s Funeral Home. 1:00pm-4:00pm (805 Main St NW, Elk River, MN 55330).
