Rodney "Rod" E. Schumm

Rodney E. Schumm was born on May 21,1956, in Princeton MN to Eugene Schumm and Janice Jackman. He married the love of his life Carol on September 21, 1974, and they went on to have a beautiful family with two daughters Angie and Jody.

He had a passion for racing cars for over 30 years; he loved to race at Princeton Speedway. He was a fabricator and welder; he made go-carts for all six of his grandchildren. He also loved working on cars in the garage on his free time. He enjoyed going to car shows and swap meets. He will be remembered for his funny personality. Above all he cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a bright light in so many lives and will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years carol of Zimmerman; children, Angie Kingstedt of Big Lake, Jody (Jeff) Patchen of Zimmerman; grandchildren, Jenna Kingstedt, Derek Kingstedt, Braiden Benjamin, Lily Benjamin, Isabel Patchen and Carson Patchen; siblings, Randy, Kevin and Theresa; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Corey Kingstedt; sister RaNay; nephew Samuel Schumm; and niece Natalie Moen.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Dare's Funeral Home at 6:30 PM. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM
