Rinold George Saathoff, age 83 of Zimmerman, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2026. He was born July 23, 1942 in Worthington, the son of William and Mamie (Kraft) Saathoff.
Rinold proudly served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966. Rinold was a dedicated truck driver with Allied Blacktop Co. for many years until his retirement.
On July 27, 1968, Rinold married his best friend, Virginia Anderson, in Elbow Lake. They were blessed with three daughters, Jody, Lori and Melissa.
Rinold enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodcrafting, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his family and friends. He always had a way of making people laugh with his funny and joking personality. He was an easy going individual who loved to spark a conversation with those around him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Mamie; and brothers, Rudolph and Robert.
Rinold is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Saathoff; daughters, Jody (Jim) Winter, Lori (Dean) Herrboldt, Melissa Sailor; grandchildren, Angela (Paul), Amanda, Ryan, Mckenzie, Andrew, Colton, Clayton; great-grandchildren, Haley, Charlotte; siblings, Ruby Lee, Richard, Ronnie (Carol); and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 11:30 AM, with visitation beginning at 10:30 AM, at Dare’s Funeral Home of Elk River, MN. Military Honors immediately to follow at the Elk River American Legion, with a luncheon following from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.
