Richard "Dick" Riesberg Obituary

Richard D. “Dick” Riesberg, age 90, of Elk River, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025. Born on August 10, 1935, Dick was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Dick married the love of his life, Beverly (Theis) Riesberg, in 1960. The couple shared nearly 65 wonderful years together, devoted to one another through all of life’s seasons. Dick often said he was the luckiest man in the world — and he truly was, blessed with a loving wife who cared for him deeply.

Dick graduated from Columbia Heights High School in 1952 and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1957. He went on to attend the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1963. In 1964, Dick began a long and successful career with Whirlpool Corporation, where he worked until his retirement in 1989. His career took him and Beverly to Danville, Kentucky, where they lived from 1984 to 1991, before returning home to Minnesota, residing in Princeton and later Elk River.

An avid outdoorsman, Dick found great joy in hunting, fishing, and spending time in God’s beautiful creation. He especially cherished the 15+ years he and Beverly spent on their 80 acres in Giese, Minnesota, where he could fully embrace his love of the outdoors.

Dick is survived by his devoted wife, Beverly; children, Rhonda (Mike) Tjaden, Deb (Mike) Denzer, and Randy (Jane) Riesberg; grandchildren, Marcus (Laura) Orrock, Jennafer Orrock, Lauren (Aaron) Schulzetenberg, Andrea (Lucas) Guimont, Adam Tjaden, and Eric (Sarah) Riesberg; and great-grandchildren, Noah and Everett Guimont and Zoey Orrock. He is also survived by his brother Kenneth (Barbara) Riesberg and sister Barbara Peterson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lillian Riesberg, and brothers Robert Riesberg Jr. and Donald Riesberg.

Dick was a man of deep faith whose love for God was evident in all he did. He was immensely proud of his family, and nothing brought him more joy than being surrounded by them. To his family, he was not just a husband, father, and grandfather — he was their quiet leader, steady guide, and cherished heart. He will be deeply missed, but his love and legacy will live on in all who knew him.

Dick’s life will be celebrated at Svea Hill Church in Big Lake, Minnesota. Visitation will begin at 10:00 with a service starting at 11:00, followed by lunch. A family burial will take place afterwards.
