Richard "Dick" Coyle Obituary

Richard “Dick” Daniel Coyle, age 77 of Elk River, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, February 27, 2026. He was born in Mason City, IA on April 10, 1948.

Dick proudly served in the US Navy from 1968-1972 and was a member of the Anoka American Legion Post 102.

On April 19, 1969, Dick married his high school sweetheart, Sue Reinhart.

Dick worked 20 years in banking with First Bank of Minneapolis (US Bank). He later worked with the Anoka Hennepin School District as Chief Engineer at Oakview Middle School for 20 years until his retirement.

Dick’s greatest pride and joy in life was God and his family. He also enjoyed keeping a pristine park-like yard, the outdoors, gardening, camping at Big Too Much Lake with his family where many precious memories were made, wintering in Arizona, and he was an avid reader.

He had a goofy personality, always making people laugh and be happy. He was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Don and Rose; and sisters, Jo and Gini.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sue; daughters, Kim (Jeff) Kittock, Kari (B.J.) Moran; grandchildren, Kaitlin, Jordan (Nicolle), Karisa (Andrew), Ryley, Lauryn (Collin), McKenna; great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Wren, Adalyn, Harrison, Brock; beloved companion, Hannah; siblings, David (Dana), Pat (Colleen), Kevin (Suzanne), Peggy (Kevin); and many nieces, nephews, family and special friends.
