Regina R. "Ginny" Hinseth

 Regina R. Hinseth (Ginny), age 59 of Elk River, MN, went home to be with our Heavenly Father on April 16, 2022. She bravely faced cancer with her positive attitude and impeccable dignity and grace. She will be sadly missed by her immediate and extended family. Also by the loving, caring and generous communities in Elk River & Park Rapids, MN. Ginny was a great wife, mom, daughter, sister, friend and work colleague to many family & friends. Growing up on a farm in rural Ponsford, MN with a wonderful family, she then graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1981. She then headed to Bemidji, MN to finish a degree in dental assisting at the local community college. After initially working up north for a short time she then moved down to the Twin Cities area and had a long and successful career in the dental field as an assistant and receptionist for many dentists throughout the suburbs and enjoyed the bonding friendships she made through work. After a short time of moving down to the cities she met the love of her life and was married in 1985 to Chris and moved from St. Louis Park to Savage before settling in Elk River to raise a family. Ginny was also a huge hockey fan! She enjoyed the times spent with family and friends every year for 24 seasons at the high school hockey tournaments down in St. Paul and that overflowed into a passion of cheering on the Minnesota Wild and other NHL players that played here in high school. Her favorite player was Kirill Kaprizov. She also loved camping with her family throughout the 5 state area which included times spent on Lake Superior’s North Shore as her favorite. The biggest thing with Ginny was her relationship with Jesus. She had grown up knowing how important a personal relationship with Jesus was and would lead others to rely on Him as she had throughout her wonderful life. Ginny is survived by husband Chris of 36 years; sons Phillip (Shelbie) and Preston (Solveig); daughter Isabella (Sterling) Blonigen; parents Reuben & Hilma Tretbar; sister Tina (Boe) Brown; brother Jeff (Heidi) Tretbar; and 5 loving and caring nephews and their extended families from the Tretbar side. Surviving on Chris’s side is mother, Phyllis; brother Brad; sisters Channah (Sahand) Hinseth & Virginia (Bob) Mellema; and 3 loving nieces & 3 loving nephews and their extended families who Ginny had such a wonderful life with. She was preceded in death by Chris’s father Herman and sister Gloria. Wake from 4-8PM on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Dare's Funeral Home, 805 Main St. NW Elk River, MN. Funeral at NOON on Saturday, April 30, 2022 with visitation 1 hour prior to service at Gateway Church, 13913 185th Ave. NW Elk River, MN. Pizza and refreshments afterwards. Ginny will be laid to rest at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, 51518 270th St. Osage, MN on Monday, May 2, 2022. Service at cemetery starts at 11 AM with celebration afterwards at Osage Community Center, 24770 County Rd 48 Osage, MN. Please wear your Wild jerseys to the wake and also bring your photo memories of any kind. We will have art boards to pin them up so everyone can enjoy her memories.
