Nancy Ann (Preston) Pelley

Nancy Pelley, nearly 92, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026 at Guardian Angels Care Center in Elk River, Minnesota. Nancy leaves behind a legacy of service, love, faith in Jesus, and devotion to her family and friends. 

Nancy was born on May 29, 1934 in Salina, Kansas to Raymond and Juanita Preston. She was a graduate of Southwest High School in Minneapolis and The University of Minnesota. 

Nancy taught home economics in LeRoy, Minnesota, Robbinsdale, Minnesota, Hutchinson, Kansas, and Urbandale, Iowa, and she was the home economist for Tone's Spices. 

Nancy enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking, cooking, flower gardening, traveling, making baby blankets for pregnancy centers, volunteering at Corinth Elementary School in Corinth, Texas, serving with the women's ministry and on the greeter team at Crossroads Bible Church in Double Oak, Texas.

Nancy was a devoted wife to Frank, her husband of 62 years. One of her greatest joys was being Nana to Preston and Julia.

Nancy is predeceased by her husband, Frank, and her siblings, Mickey, Margie, and twin brother, Ray.

She is survived by her daughter, Gwen (Ward) Schmeidel, grandchildren, Preston and Julia Schmeidel, sister-in-law, Colleen Preston, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and special friends.

Interment will take place at McDivitt Cemetery in Urbandale, Iowa following a private graveside service.
