Michael J. Burlingame

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael John Burlingame on January 3, 2025, at the age of 65. Mike, as he was known to family and friends, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a friend to many. His legacy is one of hard work, kindness, and a passion for the outdoors.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Margaret Burlingame, and his first wife, Lori, who passed away in 2014. He is survived by his devoted wife, Bobbie; children Kristi (Bryan), Tim (Amanda); and grandchildren Blake, Aliyah, Alexyia, Adam, Amir, Emma, and Hailey. He also leaves behind three great-grandchildren, Easton, Haidyn, and Lucy. Mike is further survived by his stepmother, Cookie, siblings Patty (Chris), Pam (Doug), Lisa (Andy), and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

A native of Brooklyn Center, Mike was an athlete at heart. He excelled in sports throughout his youth, graduating from Robbinsdale Senior High School in 1977. His work ethic was unparalleled, first as a butcher and later as a union floor coverer, where he dedicated many years of service.

An avid outdoorsman, Mike found great joy in hunting and fishing, particularly during the countless trips he took with his father and son. He cherished his time at the cabin, traveling with his family, and attending his son Tim’s hockey games. Above all, Mike treasured the moments spent with his grandchildren, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

In 2018, Mike met and married the love of his life, Bobbie, bringing even more happiness to his years.

A private memorial service for the family will be held. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the Elk River American Legion Post #112, located at 550 Railroad Drive, Elk River. All who knew and loved Mike are invited to join the family in celebrating his life.
