Mary Eull Obituary

Mary Audrey (Kolo) Eull was born to Francis and Josephine Kolo in Littlefork, MN on November 11, 1933. Mary passed away and went home to be with the Lord on March 17, 2024.

Mary moved to Mpls after graduating in 1951, where she met Harold when she was a waitress in Osseo, MN. They were married on October 4, 1952 in Monticello, MN. They lived in Osseo and Anoka before purchasing their home in Dayton, MN in 1957. They had 4 children, Nick, Beatrice, Josie and Greg. Mary moved from her home of 64 years in Dayton to Elk River Senior Living in October of 2021. Mary was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dayton, MN until her death. She was very involved in so many things at her church, I’m sure I’ll forget something. Some of the things she was involved in was Eucharistic Ministry, sewed altar cloths (she also ironed the altar cloths as well as other items). She made the Easter banners that are on the altar and her daughter, Josie, embroidered Alleluia on them. She was so proud of them and so many other things. She worked in the kitchen for different events and funerals, she made food for the funerals, worked at the parish festival in many areas: bible study, liturgical environment committee, she was in the rosary maker guild, (she made 100’s and they sent them to the missions), Trustee. Mary was a gem at so many trades from giving haircuts and permanents, as well as sewing and alterations for people. She taught people how to knit and crochet, and taught people young and old how to sew. She sewed beautiful bridal dresses and bridesmaid’s dresses, (she had the opportunity to work at Rush’s Bridal in Mpls, but chose to stay home to raise her 4 kids), and she also sewed clothes for her family as well as many other people. She was involved in the Red Hat society. She made many hats, mittens and slippers for her family and friends. She also made beanies for the soldiers overseas and mittens for the vets. Mary’s door was always open to drop in and have a cup of coffee. She was a bar tender, a mail carrier, and worked and retired from Tescom as a manufacturing technician.

Everyone who was blessed to have our Mom, Mary, in their life knew that she had as shoulder to lean on. She was a GOOD listener and a woman with a heart of GOLD, and she was always there if you needed her. She will be remembered by so many. Her family was a big KEY to her life, and she loved to have family gatherings with them all together, which included lots of cards, cribbage, laughter and jokes. She had a quick wit and a charm about her. She was our glue that kept us together, and now we have to continue on together, as that is what she loved.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Nick (Becky) Eull, Beatrice Eull, Josie (Terry) Held, Greg (Julie) Eull; and grandchildren, Nicholas (Katie) Eull, Adam (Christy) Eull, Katrina (Shawn) Smith, Matt Held, Jake (Melinda) Eull, Dan (Leslie) Eull; great-grandchildren, Kyle and Lainey Eull, Harper and Henry Eull, Ethan Eull, Brooks and Natalie Smith, Owen, Wyatt and Benjamin Eull; sister, Frances Boyd; brother, Frank (Peg), sister-in-law, Pat Kolo; also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Eull; grandson, Jeremy Eull; brother, Walter Kolo; and parents.
