Mary H. Erickson, 84, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, at Shepherd of Grace in Becker, MN. She lived a generous and fulfilling life, grounded in kindness, friendship, and a deep sense of community.
A devoted volunteer, Mary spent many years serving at the local food pantry, offering her time, compassion, and unwavering belief in helping neighbors in need. Through her quiet acts of service, she touched countless lives in meaningful and lasting ways.
At home, Mary was rarely without a crochet hook in hand. She found joy in creating handmade scrubbies, sharing them with friends, family, and anyone who could use a small, thoughtful gift. Her creativity brought comfort to others and filled her days with purpose.
Mary cherished life’s simple pleasures—lunches with friends, good stories, shared laughter, and time spent together. She also loved the outdoors: feeding the birds, watching the deer, and sitting peacefully in the sunshine. Nature was her place of calm and happiness.
She will be remembered for her warm heart, her generosity, and the gentle, steady way she cared for those around her. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.
Mary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Tanya; her two cherished granddaughters, Cassie (Skyler) Starr and Allexia Kupczyk; and her great-granddaughter, Gracelyn. She is also survived by her sister, Louise French, along with many other beloved family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Dean; her son, Matthew; and her parents, Charles and Martha Shaub.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Grace Lutheran Church in Becker, MN. Visitation will take place from 12:30–2:00 p.m., followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. A luncheon will be served afterward.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local food shelf, Moments Hospice, or Shepherd of Grace.
