Obituary
Marilee Ann Thoreson, 81 of Zimmerman, MN passed away at her home on March 18, 2022.
Marilee was born in Minneapolis, MN to Lee W. and Marjorie A. Helgerson on March 17, 1941. Marilee went to high school in Halstad, MN. She married Ralph Thoreson of Ada, MN on April 29, 1960.
Marilee had a strong Christian faith and always kept those she cared about in her prayers. She enjoyed working with people in numerous volunteer settings, always using her faith as her guide. She enjoyed playing board games, reading, puzzles, and watching the Vikings, although she would often comment about how hard it could be to be a Vikings fan!
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ralph Thoreson; sister, Nancy (Jim) VonBank of Blaine, MN; daughter, Keri (Bev) of Saint Joseph, MN; son, Ryan (Tyria) of Walker, MO; grandchildren, David (Ashley) Kuhn of Richland, WA, Sarah Kuhn (Kyle) of Sartell, MN, Samantha Groenhoff (David) of Hendricks, MN. Justin, Mary, and Judy of Walker, MO; Marilee had 6 great grandchildren, Ava, Carter, Ella, Hannah and Raelynn and Maverick.
Marilee was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Marjorie Helgerson. Memorial service Thursday, March 24, 2022 11 AM with visitation 1/2 hour prior to the service all at Dare’s Funeral Home 805 Main St. NW Elk River, MN 55330. Arr. Dare’s Funeral Home 763-441-1212 www.daresfuneralhome.com
