Marge Kampa
October 3, 1931 – January 20, 2023
Marge Kampa, 91, died at Princeton Hospital shortly after receiving last rites from Father Mark Innocenti. Her son and several grandchildren were present. She was born October 3, 1931, to Walter and Catherine (Schafer) Delles in St. Cloud.
She graduated from Cathedral High School in St. Cloud in 1949. She married the love of her life, Merrill Kampa on April 29, 1950. They were blessed with six children: Sandy (Martin) Tracy, Kay James (Lee Hohlen), Jack (Monika), LuAnn (Brad) Payne, Dawn (Barb Erikson), and Russell.
As her children grew, she spent countless hours with them and their 4-H activities including hosting sliding and skating parties, teaching projects, helping with the fair parade floats, square dance jamborees, potlucks, camp, and Christmas parties.
She spent many happy hours with family and friends involved with the Elk River Saddle Club. She loved a variety of craft activities and gifted her children and grandchildren with quilts and afghans.
Her family was dearly loved, and she was fiercely protective of them.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merrill; her sister, Shirley Van Scoik; and her grandson, Andy Hetrick.
She is survived by her children; her brother, Darrell (Florence) Delles; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 27, 2023 at 12:30 PM, with visitation one hour prior, at the Church of Saint Andrew, 566 4th St NW, Elk River, MN. Family burial will be at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Big Lake, MN.
