Marcella "Peggy" Stoesz, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandma, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on December 4th, 2023, at Guardian Angels by the Lake in Elk River, Minnesota. Peggy was born to Grif and Stella Searles on February 28th, 1928, in Emo, Ontario, Canada. She grew up on a farm in Baudette, Minnesota, and graduated from Proctor High School in Duluth, Minnesota.
Peggy married Harold Stoesz on October 26th, 1946, in St. Paul, Minnesota. Together, they had five children, twelve grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren. Peggy was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her family deeply.
Peggy and Harold lived in North St. Paul before moving to Champlin in 1967, where they opened Gamble's Hardware in Anoka. In 1976, they moved to Ramsey and opened Harold's Hardware.
Peggy was a faithful Christian who trusted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She attended North St. Paul Baptist, Meadow Creek Baptist, and Nowthen Alliance Churches, where she served faithfully and supported many missionaries. Peggy's life scripture was Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and He shall direct thy paths."
Peggy enjoyed traveling, cross-country skiing, camping, fishing, ceramics, and sewing. She had a heart for others, a great sense of humor, and a servant's heart. Peggy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survived by sons Ronald (Michal) Stoesz and John (Dori) Stoesz; daughters Marcy (Bruce) McComb and Sally (Kris) Koppy; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ed & Shirley Tieszen; sister-in-law Tillie Quiring; son-in-law Gary Worley; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceded in death by parents Grif and Stella Searles; husband Harold Stoesz; daughter Sharla Worley; brother & sister-in-law Frank and Rita Searles; son-in-law Scott Lemmon; brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Evelyn Stoesz; brother-in-law Richard Quiring; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Les and Luella Harder; sister-in-law Elizabeth Tieszen.
Funeral service at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 11, 2023 at Nowthen Alliance Church, 19653 Nowthen Blvd, Nowthen, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM
