Stensrud, Luella May “Lu” (Gray)
Age 88, of Andover, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2021.
She was born July 7, 1932 in Minneapolis, MN, to Glenn and Lily (Thompson) Gray. She went on to marry Jerry in 1954 and they had six children. Lu was primarily a homemaker, taking babysitting jobs in her home, but also worked part-time at the Marigold Ballroom, in downtown Minneapolis. Her love of children later brought her to work for Pillsbury Neighborhood as a pre-school teachers aid for 16 years, retiring in 1994. She had the kindest heart, bigger than no other, and her greatest joys included any time spent with her family and many friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Lily Gray; mother and father-in-law, Agnes and Dennis Stensrud; her husband, Jerry Stensrud, and siblings Allen Gray and Gloria Berndt.
She is survived by her children, Pat (Doug) Smith, Mark (Julia Nagengast) Stensrud, Vivian (Ken) Pribula, Steve (Lesa) Stensrud, Cindy (Butch) Schultz, and Jill (Jeff) Meyer; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother-in law, Don Berndt; nieces and nephew.
We all will miss her bright smile and she will forever live in our hearts.
Our special thanks to the staff at Arbor Oaks Assisted Living for their kindness, care, and friendship.
Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00AM on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Dare's Funeral Home, 805 Main Street, Elk River, followed by a memorial service at 11:00M.
