LeRoy Barrett

Age 92 of Zimmerman

Passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024. He was born on October 30, 1931, in Elk River, Minnesota to parents Harry and Eva (James) Barrett. He was preceded in death by his infant brother, Charles; parents Harry and Eva Barrett; wife Eileen (Jackson) Barrett; and sister Evelyn Hass. Surviving are his daughters Cindy Andrews, Sandy (Dana) Nelson, and Gigi (Steve) Peecher; grandchildren Nate, Brandon, Nerissa, Danielle, and Leah; 4 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

LeRoy worked in a lumber yard in the Twin Cities area for many years. In the  1960’s he started a masonry business with Frank Rennaker named B&R Concrete and he also had a snowplowing business.

He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran. He enjoyed mowing the lawn with his riding mower, camping, traveling, boating and watching the wildlife. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024, from 10-11AM with service at 11AM at the Dare’s Funeral Home, 805 Main Street NW, Elk River, MN. A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion in Zimmerman from 1-4PM. Interment will take place at 12 PM, Saturday, February 17, 2024, at the Livonia Cemetery in Livonia Township, Minnesota with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
