Kim Goad Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend Kim Renee Goad (Jackson), age 67 (67 1/2), of Elk River, Minnesota. She passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, surrounded by many of her closest loved ones.

Born on January 12, 1958, Kim lived a life marked by compassion, strength, and unwavering love for her family. She was a devoted wife to John Goad for 32 years and a proud mother to Dustin (Amanda), Jordan (Paula), and Cheyenne (Erik). She has many cherished grandchildren: Jordan, Jackson, Omri, Stormi, Hunter, Dawson, and another bundle of joy on the way as well as two great-grandchildren and many other beloved family members and friends.

Kim was a free spirit - someone who truly loved life and all its beauty. She brought positivity, laughter, and love everywhere she went. Her joy was contagious, and she touched so many lives simply by being herself. She poured her heart into caring for others, had the goofiest sense of humor, and never missed a chance to be silly and have fun. She loved to share stories and always made time to check in on her loved ones - especially during snowstorms or severe weather, calling just to make sure everyone was safe. Her love showed up in the smallest gestures, and those moments will forever be remembered.

She was someone you could always count on to answer the phone and be your sounding board. She went above and beyond to help people in any way she could, and helping others brought her immense joy. She was a truly remarkable woman with so much love in her heart. She often said to those around her "it'll all work out."  We miss her big beautiful smile, her laugh, her wisdom, and her unconditional love - immensely.

Kim had a special way of embracing life's beauty, both big and small. She loved spending time in the vegetable and flower gardens she and John tended together, finding peace and pride in watching things grow. She had a deep appreciation for nature and loved traveling to take in its beauty. One of her favorite things was going for long drives, often turning down roads just to see where they led - her curiosity and sense of adventure always shining through.

She celebrated life wholeheartedly, even the little things - like half birthdays, which she made just as special as full ones. Holidays were unforgettable; she made them fun, meaningful, and uniquely her own. She also loved getting her hair and nails done - not just for the pampering, but because it made her feel good and gave her a chance to connect with others. She especially enjoyed chatting with everyone at the nail salon, making each visit a joyful experience. These everyday moments brought her so much happiness and were a true reflection of the vibrant, spirited woman we all adored.

Throughout her life, Kim wore many hats. She began her career as a beautician, later worked in the insurance industry, at a travel agency and even tried her hand at farming and eventually pursued her passion as an entrepreneur. She built and ran businesses in transportation, cleaning, insurance, and wellness through doTERRA. She always had a business idea in mind. Her creativity, drive, and passion for helping others were evident in everything she did.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Daryl and Yvonne Jackson; her grandparents, Viola and Lawrence Himlie. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
