Katie, a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant since 2009 of Oakville, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on June 10th, 2024 at the age of 46 in Big Lake, Minnesota. She was born on June 28th, 1977.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert & Ruby Jean (Tidwell) Clark and Harold & Beverly (Baumgartner) Golden; mother, Norma Jean Golden.
Katie is survived by her husband, Simon; children, Jack Gonthier (Rachel Legge), Andrew Abousaada, and Alexander Abousaada; father, Scott Golden; siblings, Todd (Diane) Campbell, Laura (Todd) Daniel, Mandy (Jerett) Spiess, Jacob (Sarah) Golden, and Chad Lee; numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
Katie was an incredibly strong spirited woman with a deep belief in God and a profound unconditional love for her boys. They were her sense of purpose and reason for living. She was a wonderful mother and loved spending time with family and friends. She was fiercely loyal to all within her inner circle. She had a unique ability to be calm and even-tempered in the face of any storm. She loved to dance, travel, and spend days soaking in the sunshine at the beach.
Katie was an integral part of the fabric of her professional team at ReFocus Eye Health. She was the unwavering voice for all, the role model that always persevered through every challenge and obstacle. She took immense pride in her job and truly cared about each and every patient. She was loved by her peers and patients.
Katie fought a valiant, brave fight against cancer while never losing her faith, sense of humor or sweet personality. She remained true to herself until her last days. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She will forever dance and live within the hearts and minds of those close to her.
