Kathleen Gail (Erickson) Wilson

Age 66, of Elk River.  Passed away on May 19, 2020.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Ellen and Harold Erickson;  Kathy is survived by her husband of 41 years, Larry; daughters, Rachel (Dan) McMorran and Amy (Matt) Wilson-Ransdell; grandchildren, Emma, Megan and Caleb; sisters, Barb (Jim) Gwynn and Diane Hughes (Terry Small).  

From the family . . . 

Kathy was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  Each of us have special memories that we will continue to hold onto.

She loved to spend time with her family.  She and Larry would schedule their annual fall color drive around Mille Lacs each fall as soon as the leaves started to turn.  While her girls were growing up, she was always their biggest cheerleader while they played softball and basketball.  Later on, you would often find her on the bleachers watching her grandkids throughout the years at their various sport events.  

When at home, she spent her time swinging on her deck swing or planting and taking care of her multiple hanging flower baskets or flower beds.  

The holidays were some of her favorite times throughout the year.  Memorial Day she, with her two sisters, would visit their parents’ grave sites in Fort Snelling and enjoy a picnic together.  Fourth of July would be celebrated, watching the fireworks over Lake Superior in Duluth.  Halloween she looked forward to visiting the pumpkin patch, dressing her pumpkin, and seeing the trick-or-treaters.  She would spend hours arranging her holiday decorations, finding that perfect spot for each piece she placed out.  You could find her baking her favorite holiday treats around Christmas, while listening to Elvis Presely’s holiday music.  

She was always there for your phone call, a visit, need for a hug, encouragement, lunch or dinner date out at her of many favorite restaurants, or a shopping trip.  

She will be dearly missed.
