Kathleen G. Hunter

Hunter, Kathleen G., age 81 of Elk River, passed away August 30, 2023.  Preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Sadie Hunter; siblings, Harold, Virginia, Mary Lou, Glenn, and John; grandchildren, Breanna, Glen, and Justis. 

Kathleen was strong in her faith and a faithful servant of God. 

She raised her 8 children in Crown, MN before moving to Elk River in 1994.  She was forever grateful for neighbors, Don and Sally Eden, Amy Wilcox, and Pat Ramstad, that never gave up inviting her to church where she accepted Christ as her Savior.

Throughout her life, Kate’s heart and home were always open to everyone.  She has left a legacy of faith, hope, love, grace, peace, and the importance of an active prayer life.  Family traditions were important to her.  We always had our traditional holiday meals that “Aunt Hilda” used to make.  Kate loved to travel all parts of the U.S., the beaches in California were a favorite of hers, and she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Kathleen is survived by her children, Nick, Lori (Ed), Carmi, Lisa, Lynn (Matt), Leslie (Wayne), LeAnne (Jeff), Joel “Bug” (Shelly), and Libby (Greg); 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and brothers and sisters in Christ.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 6th at Dare’s Funeral Home 805 Main St. NW Elk River, MN from 4-8 PM and Funeral service on Thursday, September 7th at Gateway Church, 13913 185th Ave. NW Elk River at 11 AM with a visitation one hour prior to service at church.  Funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Jason Sorley with Elk River Baptist Church where Kate was an active member.  Private family interment will follow.
