Judith "Judy" A. (Schaefer) Enger

At age 83, Judy went to the Lord with family by her side on July 24, 2023.

Judy was a great conversationalist, always had a story to share and loved a good joke.  She loved reading, watching her favorite mystery TV shows, listening to music/Chicago talk radio on her Alexa, working puzzles and spending time with family.  She also enjoyed traveling, the beauty of the changing seasons in Minnesota, and long chats on the phone. She had a passion to keep learning (many learn to speak/read Spanish and ACT/SAT books); most recently, Judy enjoyed learning the Chinese game, Mahjong with her friends at Riverview Landing.   

Judy was born in Minneapolis, MN in 1940 and grew up in the Camden & Brooklyn Center areas. Daughter of William (Bill) and Alvina Schaefer of Elk River, MN. Growing up, she loved going on long drives with her parents. That is where her passion for traveling grew. She was married to Gary D. Enger and they had three daughters, Stacey, Lisa and Kristen.

Judy retired from Target Corporation in the Accounting & Finance Department located downtown Minneapolis. She enjoyed her job and made some good friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, William Schaefer and Alvina (Krenz) Schaefer and her husband, Gary D. Enger.

Survived by her children, Stacey Albers, Lisa (David) Falkman, and Kristen (Mark) Worwa; grandchildren, Noah Albers, Austin (Amber) Falkman, Madison (Nate) Nelson, Savannah (Matt) Frost, Colton Falkman, Morgan Worwa and Brooke Worwa; and great grandchild, Bella Frost.

Please join us in a Celebration of Life at Dare’s Funeral Home 805 Main St NW Elk River, Minnesota on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 3:00pm. Visitation one hour prior. Procession to the cemetery will follow service at St. Andrew’s Cemetery in Elk River, MN about 1 hour after service. Please note this burial will be for both Judy and her husband, Gary.
