Juanita Lockwood, age 92, passed away on November 11, 2024, in Coon Rapids.
Born on December 2, 1931, Juanita graduated from Elk River High School in 1949. She was a loving wife to her late husband Kenneth Lockwood and a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Juanita was known for her nurturing spirit and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid gardener, skilled at knitting, and a regular at bingo nights. Her presence was a staple at family events, and she never missed her children's and grandchildren's sporting events. Juanita also looked forward to her annual trips to the State Fair, a tradition cherished by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Billie (Steve), and sons, Shawn (Darcie), Shane (Carolyn), and Jon (Kayla). Juanita was a proud grandmother to Reed, Shanna, Andi, Kendra, Kiara, Jax, and Kenniti, and a great-grandmother to Mayhauna, Loren, Grace, and TJ.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, her parents Alfred and Daisy Brown, and her infant daughter.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Elk River American Legion on Thursday, November 21st from 1-5 pm.
Juanita's life was marked by her dedication to her family and her joyous participation in community activities, leaving a legacy of love and cherished memories.
