JoAnn Keech Obituary

JoAnn A. (Coulson) Keech, age 79 of Otsego passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 where she lived with her daughter, Jolene.

Our mother was born March 22, 1942 to parents Archie L. & Della (Jensen) Coulson in Jeffers, MN. She was #7 of 9 children. Sisters: Darlene Meier & Connie Sutherland. Brothers: Robert (Bob), Lonnie, Elno (IA), Archie Jr. (Duke), Jack and Jim (IL).

She graduated from Echo HS and was married to Clyde E. Keech from 1963-1985. Mother of five children, grandmother to eleven, and great-grandmother of two, she was always ready with prayers and wise counsel for us.

She had an insatiable desire to learn. Interests included Bible study, gospel music, gardening, cake decorating, weather, astronomy, history, genealogy, gemology, childcare, psychology, health, sewing, home repair, and these are only a small sample.

She retired in 2007 after 21 years doing Quality Control for Golden Valley Microwave Foods Div. of Conagra, Edina, where so many coworkers loved her. Mom’s words: “Giving all to the job because I know God gave it to me, so He was always my Big Boss!”

Preceded in death by her parents Archie (1992) & Della (2000), brothers Bob (1956), Duke (1975), Jack (2013), sister Darlene (2017), & our father Clyde on September 12, 2021.

She is survived by:

Children: Jeannine (h. Mark) Guck, Janelle (h. Jim) Davis (AL), Jennifer Woodhouse, Jason (w. Tracy) Keech & Jolene Fenn. Grandchildren: Steven, Stephanie, Althea, Kayla, Kaitlyn, Kaylee, Kayden, Connor, Madelyn (h. Tyler), Taryn & Toby. Great-grandchildren: Mathis, Lena.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 10 am - 12 pm with a luncheon to follow at Free Grace United Church (12864 Fremont Ave, Zimmerman, MN 55398), where her son Jason serves as pastor.
