Janet Ethel Adams, age 76, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, treasured aunt, and inspiration to many, passed away surrounded by loving family on February 14, 2026. The celebration of a life well lived will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 11:00 am at Christ Church Otsego in Otsego, MN. Visitation will start at 10:00 am. A luncheon will follow at the church.
Jan was a woman of quick wit, quiet adventure, and deep devotion to family, God, and leaving the world a better place than she found it. She lived a life of service with a career as an occupational therapist and, while she was widely known for the work she did with the church, the counseling she provided to those in need, the beautiful handmade quilts, warm chocolate chip cookies, and a home that was open and loving to all, she also had an adventurous spirit. Less well known were her antics on the jet ski, experience as a sky diver, time in the rockies downhill skiing (well into her sixties), adventure trekking through the Amazon rainforest, service as a missionary in Africa, and other adventures too numerous to count.
She left an amazing, indelible mark on so many lives. She will be deeply missed.
Jan is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 56 years, Bryan Adams; children Matthew Adams (Michele), Melissa Hansen (Derek), Neil Adams (Jill), Eric Adams (Maryn), 18 grandchildren, and generations of precious nieces and nephews.
Jan is reunited in heaven with her parents, Lawrence and Ethel Branum, and brother, Earl Branum.
In lieu of flowers, well-wishers are encouraged to give to two of Jan’s passions; Christ Church Otsego (www.christchurchotsego.org) or Timber Bay (www.timberbay.org/groups/elk-river/).
