James Lynch Obituary

On Friday, January 8, 2021, James Gerald Lynch, entered the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ. He fought hard until the end and was surrounded by loved ones at home. He was born on April 20, 1958 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Gerald and Eileen (Robinson) Lynch. He graduated with honors from North Hennepin Community College in 1984 with his Associate of Applied Science degree and served as a well-respected police officer for 32 years in Minneapolis, Minnesota. On June 2, 1979, he married Tammie Jean Champlin. They raised four children together, Charity, Hope, Faith, and Andrew. Jim was a softball legend in the greater Midwest area and spent the majority of his summers increasing the win count for the local softball teams. He was a longtime member of the philanthropic City Heat. Jim enjoyed taking road trips on his Harley and traveling to see his favorite bands and national landmarks with Tammie. He treasured spending time with his eight beloved grandchildren and sharing his deep faith in Christ with them. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, his tender heart, and his kind and compassionate spirit. Jim touched many lives and was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Ella Robinson. He is survived by his wife, Tammie; children, Charity (Karl) Sauskojus, Hope (Justin) Schendel, Faith (David) Cunningham, & Andrew (Kimberly) Lynch; grandchildren, Jack, Mark James, Ella, Ellianna, Sawyer, Abigail, Savannah, and Thomas; parents, Gerald & Eileen Lynch; brothers, Craig (Sharon) Lipinski, Mike (Roxy) Lynch, and Dan (Sheila) Lynch; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Champlin, a big blue family, and numerous relatives and friends.
