A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Dare’s Funeral Home in Elk River, MN at 1:00 PM for Gerald “Joe” Keith Gordon, age 94, of Elk River who passed away on April 21, 2026, surrounded by family. Visitation will be an hour prior. Gerald and Joanne will be laid to rest on a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Joe was born on February 9, 1932, to Keith and Marie (Mann) Gordon in Hawkeye, IA. He served in the National Guard as a Sergeant in Fort Riley, Kansas. He was a Bakery Specialist in MN and WI until his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, hunting, and model airplanes. Above all he cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, and great great- grandpa. He will be missed dearly.
Joe is survived by his children, Fred (Debbie) Gordon, Ron (Luann) Gordon, Judy Gordon, Scott (Annette) Gordon, and Karen (John) Cross; siblings, Greg (Sue) Gordon and Kathy Lange; grandchildren Angi, Chad, Lacey, Jennie, Patrick, Michael, Jake, Abby, John, Melissa, Mathew and Jackson; 14 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Joanne; parents; son Allen Mark Gordon; son-in-law, Jack Mowry.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Elk River YMCA.
