Born March 14, 1941, in Sauk Centre, MN and passed away March 31, 2025, in Otsego, MN, at the age of 84.
Graduated 1959 from Osseo High School. Enlisted in the U. S. Army in Dec of 1959, serving 3 years (1 year being in Paris, France). Upon being honorably discharged in 1962, he met and married LouAnn (Linder) on August 31, 1963, and was blessed with 3 children.
Jerry graduated from Dunwoody Industrial Institute with a degree in Electrical Construction. He went on to have a 38-year career as a proud member of IBEW Local 292 working on many Minneapolis landmarks, including the IDS Building, Mall of America, and HCMC to name a few. He was an avid hunter with trips to Canada, Montana, and Alaska, where he was proud to bag a trophy moose. He was a brilliant man of many talents – he built 3 homes, restored a 1923 Model T, built a black powder rifle.
Upon retirement, he spent 18 winters in Stuart, FL enjoying the sunshine, with summers spent in Battle Lake, MN where he put his talents to work in his wood shop, producing numerous beautifully crafted items for his grandchildren and others.
His love of travel took him and LouAnn to many countries and on numerous cruises to many islands.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Harold and Mabel (Troness) Warner; infant sister, Delores.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 61 years, LouAnn; children, Michelle Ashe, Troy Warner (Sue Bonte), and Chad (Tirzah) Warner; grandchildren, Derek (Heather) Ashe, Kristin (Johnny) Baquero; great-grandchildren, Hadley, Trygve, and Evelyn Ashe and Elena and Lucas Baquero; brother, Richard (Kathy) Warner; nephews, Tony (Crystal) and Chris (Kristin); numerous cousins, other family, and friends.
Funeral Service at 10:00AM on Friday, April 4, 2025 at Dare’s Funeral Home, 805 Main St NW, Elk River, with visitation starting at 9:00AM.
