Gary Fisk Johnson, age 81 of Otsego, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026. He was born in Minneapolis on October 11, 1944 to LeRoy and Marian (Fisk) Johnson. Gary graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1963. He then enlisted in the US Army and served as a medic in Korea during the Vietnam conflict.
Gary dedicated many years to the manufacturing industry, working as a machinist before advancing to machine shop supervisor. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting firewood, gardening, and watching birds. While these pursuits brought him happiness, nothing meant more to him than his family—especially his treasured grandchildren. A true gentle giant, Gary was known for his kindness, generosity, and goofy sense of humor that could bring a smile to anyone's face. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
He is preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Marian Johnson; and brother-in-law, Pat Moline.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Janet Johnson; sons, Jeremy (Jennifer), Joshua (Niki), Jacob (Ann); grandchildren, Nico, Adam, Zoe, Evan, Madi; siblings, Russell Johnson, Vickie Moline; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
