Floriece Caroll Kackman (Krause) was born on December 27, 1936, to Adolph and Hilda Krause in rural Lidgerwood, ND, and baptized near Claire City, SD. Hilda, Flo, and sister Sharon moved to Sisseton, SD, in 1945 after Adolph’s death from a car accident. Flo graduated from Sisseton High School in 1954 and then moved to the Loring Park area of Minneapolis. She worked for the Star Tribune and then the Minneapolis Gas Company (Minnegasco) where she made lifelong friends.
Flo met her future husband, Larry, at a roller rink in South Dakota. They were married in 1957 and moved to Robbinsdale, MN. Later, they moved to New Hope, MN, where they raised two boys, Scott and Brad. When her boys were older, Flo worked for Super Value and also sold Avon. In the early 2000’s, Flo and Larry moved to Otsego, MN, to be closer to their grandsons. She was a proud supporter at their numerous music and sporting events. Flo had many fond memories of vacations across the United States and Europe with family and friends. For 18 years, Flo and Larry were snowbirds in Mesa, AZ, where Flo enjoyed many hobbies such as scrapbooking, photography, ceramics, and making jewelry. She enjoyed doing these activities with her grandsons when they would visit. Flo made many lifelong friends throughout her life, including the “500” card club group that played together for over 65 years.
Flo was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Hilda Krause, and her sister, Sharon (Bill). She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Larry; sons, Scott and Brad (Michelle); and grandsons, Kyle and Cory
