Eileen Marie (Bremer) Ballou

Eileen Ballou, age 87, of Elk River, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 8, 2024. Preceded in death by parents, Fred and Ella (Potthoff) Bremer; and sisters, Berneice Muilenburg, Eunice Peterson, and Yvonne Fossum. Eileen is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Charles L. Ballou; children, Marty (Nancy) Ballou and Wendy (Ram) Anantha; grandchildren, Kyle and Ashley Ballou; sister, Doretta Nelson; and many nieces and nephews. Eileen was born and raised in South Dakota. She attended Arlington High School in South Dakota where she met the love of her life, Charles Ballou. They later moved to Minneapolis, MN and she and Charles were married September 6, 1960. She and her husband spent a few years in San Francisco, CA where Charles was stationed there in the Army. Upon his discharge from the Army, they returned to MN where she devoted herself to raising their 2 children in Bloomington, MN. She and Charles later moved from Bloomington to a home in Maple Grove, then Villard, then to Elk River. Eileen was a devoted Christian and attended Lutheran church services and bible studies regularly. She was well known for her whistling, singing, and humming throughout her life. She loved spending time at their lake home in Villard, MN for many years. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, with visitation from 10:00 AM until time of service at St. John Lutheran Church, 9231 Viking Boulevard NW, Elk River, MN.
