Douglas Mordal Obituary

Age 63, loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend to many went peacefully home to his Father October 20, 2025.

Born November 12th 1961 to Dale and Marcella (Kreger) Mordal. Doug lived a life marked by kindness, character and generosity, whether through his laughter, wisdom or a helping hand he touched the lives of many. Doug married his high school sweetheart, Ruth (Anderson) in April of 1981 and they spent the following 44 years together raising their family, extended family and all who needed a guiding hand. He truly had a welcoming heart and his quiet strength and gentle spirit will be remembered by those who loved him. Throughout his life Doug enjoyed golfing, playing cards, yearly ice fishing trips with the family, restoring classic cars and soaking in the sun in the pool. He was a skilled machinist and his expertise and work ethic is one to be admired. More to be admired was his immense love for his family, he enjoyed nothing more than to be surrounded by friends and family, and he will be greatly missed by them all. Through heavy hearts we can find comfort in Psalm 34:18 "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit".

With open arms Doug was welcomed into heaven by his father Dale and his precious daughter Katie Mary Mordal (b: April 19th 1988). Cherishing his life here are his wife, Ruth and children Phillip, Amy, and Ashley (David); beloved grand-kiddos Ava, Zoey and Kashton; mother Marcella and brothers Jeff (Sue), Don (Kim) and Tom; multitudes of nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Though this is a time of mourning Doug and our hearts are heavy, it is also a time to remember, to honor and to give thanks for the gift of his life. We trust that God's presence surrounds us even in our grief and we hold onto the hope of reunion. We must remember the hope that comes from Jesus Christ. Romans 8:38-39 assures us:” For I am convinced that neither death nor life… will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

May his life always be a blessing to those that loved him. We love you Doug!
