Age 80, of Otsego. Passed away on March 30, 2022.
Jean was a devoted wife, mother and adoring grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and canning everything. Food was plentiful after the summer harvest. Camping, fishing, and enjoying the great outdoors with family and friends is how they vacationed. Jean was an avid seamstress. She made many clothing items, doll clothes, and wedding/bridesmaid dresses. Jean was a huge fan of college hockey; MN Golden Gophers are her favorite team. She and Chet loved going to the NCAA Frozen 4 hockey tournaments; attending for 30+ years. Jean adored her grandchildren and supported them in all their activities. Many hockey, lacrosse, soccer, band concerts, dance recitals, car races, wrestling meets, football, basketball, and baseball games were attended. Jean always being the biggest cheerleader.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Catherine Sweet; sister, Catherine (Woodlie) Ramroop.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Chester; children, Pam (Brad) Johnson, LoAnn (Jim) Madden and Gary (LaFonda) Leshovsky; grandchildren, Emily (Jared) Bronson, Rebecca (Jake) Nienow, Nicole Johnson, Gary Leshovsky Jr., Jenna Madden, Clay Johnson, Marcus (Alyssa) Leshovsky, Ryan Madden, Natalie Johnson and Adam Leshovsky; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, William (Judy) Sweet, Roger (Candace) Sweet and Dennis Sweet; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Mass of Christian burial at 12:30PM on Mon, Apr 4, 2022 at the Church of St Andrew, 566-4th St, Elk River, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also on Sun, Apr 3 from 2-6PM at Dare’s Funeral Home, 805 Main St, Elk River.
