Donna "Kitty" Mae (Waite) Rahn

Donna Mae Rahn “Kitty” age 91, longtime resident of Elk River, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 6, 2025. She was born August 28, 1934 to Chester and Ione Waite Jr.

On January 10, 1953, Donna married Don, at the Church of Saint Andrew in Elk River, MN. Just shy of celebrating 73 years of dedicated marriage, they showed their family what the epitome of love was.

Donna worked 26 years as a cook at Anoka School District 11 until her retirement in 1990. In retirement, Donna and Don enjoyed wintering in Arizona, and spending an ample amount of time making cherished memories with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Donna loved spending time crocheting, baking, gardening, craft shows, Christmas shopping and celebrating Christmas dinner with her family. Her caring and meek demeanor allowed her to be a great listener for all, she was one of the kindest souls one would ever meet.

She is preceded in death by her son, Rick Rahn; parents, Chester and Ione Waite Jr.; and siblings, Dorsey, Jim, Judd, and Patti.

Donna is survived by her loving husband, Don Rahn; children, Linda Belanger, Ken Rahn (Wendy), Sandy Ives, Bonnie Rahn (Leo), Bruce Rahn (Cathy); daughter-in-law, Sue Rahn; 18 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, and other family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 12:30 PM, with visitation beginning at 11:30 AM, at the Church of Saint Andrew, 566 4th Street NW, Elk River, MN. Burial following at St. Andrew Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Donna’s name are preferred to the Church of Saint Andrew Parish or Saint Andrew School in Elk River, MN.
