Donald W. Putnam

Donald Wayne Putnam, age 85 of Elk River, MN passed away on June 27, 2023.

Don was born on October 27, 1937, the son of Herschel and Edith Putnam. Attended school in Elk River, graduating in 1955.

Don's working days were with Honeywell in the electronics field, retiring after 37 years of dedicated service.

Don and his dad had a mutual interest in fishing and hunting which spilled over to Don's sons. Camping with family, visiting many areas was a favorite time. He always loved motorcycle trips, snowmobiling, repairing small engines and when retired spending winters in Lake Havasu, AZ. Afternoon coffee at Coborn's with friends happened often.

Don loved animals, always had a pet cat or dog. He cared deeply about the environment. Don was a tender hearted man and clearly loved life and his family. He had many friends who were very special to him.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Mitch Clark.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Beverly; sons, Scott (Janet), Steve; granddaughters, Michelle and Jessica Putnam and Erica Rudquist; sister, Deanne Clark; and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A service honoring his life will be held Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM, with visitation at 10:00 AM, at Union Congregational Church, 1118 4th St NW, Elk River, MN.
