Deborah Hansen Obituary

In Loving Memory Of Deborah Lee Hansen 12/20/1954-10/17/2024

Deborah Lee Hansen peacefully went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 17, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 20, 1954 in Duluth, MN to parents Robert E. and Barbara L. Johnson. She spent her childhood and young adult years in Duluth. She lovingly raised three children and spiritually mothered many who were not her own, primarily in the Princeton area. She worked diligently to support her family through childcare, retail sales and for the Federal Employee Program where she helped retirees back into the workforce. While working in this program she met her tender-hearted husband, Robert Frey. They courted, then married on November 15, 2014. Bob completed Deborah’s family. He was a perfect fit and loved her children as his own. They enjoyed a beautiful six and a half years together at their home in Mora before Bob’s passing. Her eight grandchildren were her heart and soul.

Pastor Deborah was ordained in 2005. Through the years, Deborah supervised ministries at Eternity Church such as prayer meetings, women’s discipleship, and support groups. She organized and developed the Altar/Prayer Assistance Ministry. The wisdom that came from years of faithful study and practical application of scripture prepared Deborah to assist in counseling and discipleship matters. Deborah often graced the pulpit as assistant pastor with passion and clarity. Deborah did ordinary things with extraordinary love as taught by one of her favorite servants of the Lord, Mother Theresa.

Deborah is survived by her children, Jeremy (Renee) Ogston, Jodi Ogston, Cyona (Michael) Harrison; grandchildren, Nicholas (Amy) Ogston, Michael Ogston, Easton Verhel, Aveya Verhel, Wesley Harrison, Ariona Harrison, Hattie Harrison; and a great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Grace, is expected in January; sister, Saundra (Rodney) Monson; sisters-in-law, Irene Johnson and Carole Johnson; the fathers of her children, Michael Ogston and Larry Williams; beloved therapy cat, Kitty Kitty Big Chin; parrots, Romie and Sophie; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Frey; parents, Robert E. and Barbara L. Johnson; brothers, Stephen and Scott Johnson; and granddaughter, Keeley Ogston.

Deborah was the most loving and compassionate woman. She loved without measure and loved everyone right where they were at. She was quick to love and slow to anger. She was passionate in her care for people, she was diligent in her studies, she would encourage instead of ridicule. She would choose to be gracious and merciful over judgement and distain. She was and focused on the good in everyone. She was gentle and was generous with her assumptions, always giving the benefit of the doubt. She was tender hearted. She was strong, resilient and brave. She was a woman who embodied and represented the depiction of Christ.
