Age 61 of Zimmerman
Passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, January 17, 2026. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann (Malbon) Tollefson. Surviving are his father Darrel J. Tollefson; sisters Teresa Tollefson and Kari (Craig) Johnson; nieces and nephews Jacob (Ashley) Matthew (Hali), Madyson, Bryce, and Evelyn; great nephews Crew, Maddox and Colter; special “brothers” Dean and Jesse; and other relatives and friends. David was a practical, no-nonsense sort of guy with a good heart. He was a hard worker and was the one to turn to when you needed help because he would never let you down. He could surprise you with his unexpected humor but never by sneaking into a room. You always knew when David entered a room!
He loved his Chevy trucks, Vikings, Fantasy Football, hunting, fishing, NASCAR, barbecuing, and especially helping out his dad.
A celebration of life service to honor David will be held from 12 - 3PM on Sunday, February 22 at Broadway Bar & Pizza in Elk River. Arrangements entrusted to Dare’s Funeral Home ~ Elk River. 763-441-1212. daresfuneralhome.com
