Colleen F. Becker

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Dare’s Funeral Home in Elk River, MN for Colleen Faith (VanVleet) Becker, age 72, of Otsego MN, who passed away peacefully on March 19, 2024 in her home surrounded by her family. Burial to follow service in the Otsego Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Colleen was born on June 25, 1951 to Myron and Violet (Blair) VanVleet in Minneapolis. Colleen was raised in Crystal and graduated from Kimball High School. Colleen met the love of her life, Frank William Becker, at a drive-in theater in Coon Rapids in 1966. Frank and Colleen were married November 15, 1968 and went on to have 2 children; Jesse and Tina and were blessed to share 55 years of marriage before her passing.

Colleen was a home mother while her children were younger. When her children started school Colleen spent a short stent at a company where she was sewing sails for sailboats. Later she picked up various parts assembly jobs that she could do from her home to be near her family. When her children were older, Colleen went to work at McDonalds and retired from there after 26 years; most of that time as a manager. Once Colleen retired, she enjoyed spending her time drinking her coffee, loving on her grandchildren, playing games on her computer, going to dinner theaters to see shows, making beautiful quilts, and spending time with her family.

Colleen is preceded in death by her parents, Myron and Violet, siblings, Karen, and Kevin. She is survived by her husband Frank Becker; children, Jesse (Cheri) Becker, Tina (Aaron) Billstrom; siblings, Keith VanVleet, Kathy (Chuck) Smith, Kim O’Leary, Kay VanVleet, Kyle VanVleet, and Kelly VanVleet; 6 grandchildren, Joel Billstrom, Jessica (Marcus) Billstrom, George Becker, Tyler Becker, Marshall Becker, and many loved nieces and nephews.
