Cindy Lou Gregersen of Big Lake passed away at home on August 16, 2025, at the age of 59, after a long struggle with liver disease and brief battle with liver cancer.
Cindy was born in Willmar, Minnesota on May 12, 1966, to Freddie and Darlene (Hanson) Mattson. The second of four children, Cindy spent her early years in Redwood Falls frequenting the local pool, movie theater, and candy shop, with her sister at her side.
After returning to Willmar, she joined the Willmar High School cheerleading squad. She was married to Douglas Gregersen on July 23, 1983. Cindy had always wanted to be a mother and was blessed with four children.
Cindy provided at home daycare, cleaned houses, and later spent a decade driving school bus. Her true passion, though, was home decorating; she had a special knack for making the things around her beautiful.
Cindy was a devoted wife, loving mother, and doting grandma. She worked hard to make the people around her feel special—stocking the pantry with favorite treats, hosting family gatherings, and celebrating all of the milestones and successes of the people she loved. She was active in her church, Nowthen Alliance, serving on the decorating committee. Deeply committed to her faith, Cindy looked ahead to her eternal life with Jesus with unwavering hope.
Cindy is survived by her husband of forty-two years, Douglas Gregersen of Big Lake; her four children, Joshua (and Chanelle) Gregersen of Blaine, Jordan (and Nicki) Gregersen of Willmar, Carly (and Rick) Koepke of Big Lake, Dylan (and Hailey) Gregersen of Becker; ten grandchildren; sister Jodi (and Greg) Garrison of Wills Point, TX; two brothers, Troy (and Nancy) Mattson of Willmar and Aaron (and Richelle) Mattson of Mulvane, KS; step-sister Kasey (and Shane) Baker of Willmar; and step-mother Vicky Mattson of Willmar. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, step-father, and step-sister.
