Christine Sesok Harvey

Christine Sesok Harvey passed away after an extended illness on Saturday, May 11 at the Beehive Homes in Elk River, age 53.  Christine was born in Vineland, New Jersey, on June 18, 1970, to Michael and Geraldine Sesok. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt.

After graduating Vineland High School, she completed a B.S.B.A. in accounting at The American University in Washington DC in 1992.  A Masters of Business Administration followed in 1999, from the PA Smeal College of Business, Penn State University. In between she achieved her license as a Certified Financial Planner. She wore her natural brilliance with ease, grace and humility. 

Professionally, Christine was a tax manager and financial planner, first in Washington DC, then as a vice-president of Warner Financial Services in Woodstown NJ.  She met her husband, John, in our nation’s capital. Married in 1996, they moved to Minnesota in 2004, where he is a professor at SCSU; Christine was a manager at Larson Allen L.L.P., and later a senior estate tax manager with Abdo Eick & Meyers L.L.P. in Edina MN. 

Raised Ukrainian Orthodox, she was an active member of Central Lutheran Church since 2004. Christine prized charity and always gave generous, personal support to better the spirits of those fortunate to know her.  Her famous smile, gentle heart, and bottomless affection for all touched the lives of many from the mid-Atlantic and upper Midwest of this country. Mother of three sons, sister to four siblings, her family always came first.

Christine is survived by her husband, John Harvey of Elk River; son Benjamin Harvey of Washington DC; son Abram Harvey of Creighton University; son Elisha Harvey of Elk River; mother Geraldine Sesok of Vineland NJ; sister Michele Sesok of Vineland; sister Deborah Sesok-Pizzini of Wynnewood PA; sister Tammy Schmidt of Vienna VA; sister Tanya Lacy of Satellite Beach FL; mother-in-law Sharon Harvey; brothers-in-law Mark Pizzini, Paul Schmidt and Rayme Lacy, and sisters-in-law Lynne Zawada, Sheri Lynch, and Sandra Harvey.  She has eleven nephews and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her father, Michael Sesok Jr., and father-in-law, William Harvey. 

In lieu of flowers, Christine supported Special Olympics Minnesota; CAER Food Shelf Elk River; Feed My Starving Children Coon Rapids, and the Alzheimer’s Association.

A memorial for Christine Harvey will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Central Lutheran Church, 1103 School Street NW, Elk River, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Lunch will follow the service.
