Charles LeRoy Bedbury, "Butch/Chuck", age 80 of Isanti, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025. He was born in Galveston, Texas, on June 30, 1944 to parents Floyd and Dorothy (Ziegler) Bedbury.
At an early age, Butch’s parents moved to Dayton, Minnesota where he learned to farm. He was in the first class to graduate from VandenBerge High School in 1962.
As a young adult, Butch married and started his own family. During this time, he happily took on the additional responsibility of raising two of his younger siblings, demonstrating his dedication to taking care of others and “doing the right thing”.
Building a life on Mississippi River helped fuel his love for the great outdoors. Whether fishing, hunting, or hosting a BBQ for family and friends, Butch could be found enjoying nature, and the frequently present Budweiser, in the perfect oasis he created.
Butch had many great career accomplishments during his 35 years at Hoffman. Proving yet again his dedication to hard work, he worked his way up from Lineman to Senior Engineer before retiring. After his official retirement from Hoffman, he began a 20 year long second career as a private consultant, a job that would take him all over the world.
Butch lived a rich life filled with family and friends. He was always looking for and creating opportunities to spend every moment he could, with the ones he loved. This included even becoming a coach for his son Brandon’s baseball team.
Butch made an undeniable impact on everyone he knew and wholeheartedly believed that life should be lived to the fullest! This belief was long held. He was quoted in a 1962 local newspaper to “Never be afraid to have fun, no matter the time or place. Its a short life.” Advice we all should take to heart!
He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Dorothy Bedbury; and sisters, Cheryl Christian and Marla Gmach
Chuck is survived by his partner, Karen and his children, Andy (Jessica) Bedbury, Victoria (Kevin) Lewis, Brandon (Sarah) Bedbury; grandchildren, Linda, Amelia, Seth, Ryan, Briana, Katie, Colin; great-grandchildren, McKenna, Hayley, Piper, Katherine, Violet, Zoey, Ainsley, Avery; siblings, Wayne Anderson, Judy (John) Brady, Carmen (Rick) Wood, Paula Gehrke; Gene Gmach, Dave Christian and many other family and friends.
